Ok , so I have a 4790k on a maximus hero vii and h100i. First question , will Overclocking the CPU improve my graphics since I'm using on board ? 2. What will I gain from Overclocking ? 3. I used the asus ai suite to overclock my CPU and it went to 4.6 at about x<40 c and using 1.328 volts, I then went in and changed the 1.328 to 1.3 And The 4.6 stayed The same . 4. I usually leave my PC on overnight to download games , is it safe to keep my PC over clocked at 4.6 on over night ? 5. Anyone have any good experience with ai suite because it seems kinda derpy and my CPU is at 800 hz right now since I put it in power save mode but can't I make it so I can switch from 4.6 to 4.0 or should I just keep it always over clocked and does switching damage the CPU? And should I just go in and overclock from

Bios and leave it like that and get rid of ai suite and do I have to restart my PC when I change from preformance to power saver on ai suite to make the changes ?

1.) No, overclocking the CPU does not improve graphical capability unless your CPU is the bottleneck.

2.) Potentially more performance.

3.)I don't understand the question.

4.)I would suggest setting Windows to balanced and your voltage to Adaptive so the CPU can downclock and undervolt itself when it's idling.

5.)I never use any software to do overclocking. I always perform the overclocking in the BIOS directly.

1) Why are using onboard, and no. sorry. You cant overclock the integrated gpu.

2) OCing doesnt have issues, unless ur cranking the volts up. Your are keeping it reasonable, so you should be OK.

3) Same with my i5, just a way to conserve energy. Dont think you can disable that. Gets to 792mhz.

4) Switching doesnt damage it, even if it did, the notice will be miniscule and almost impossible to see.

5) AI suite is mainily for people that want to tweak other stuff. So I would say just go into BIOS and do that. As long as you know how to do it in a BIOS and be reasonable, you will be fine.

I thought I had some money... Oh wait... I spent it all ;(

To 3 I meant to ask if that's normal and when I set windows to balanced do my games still download like from steam origin etc..

Setting Windows to Balanced only changes the power plan. It does not change any functions of the programs installed.

I'm assuming I have to restart when I switch from power save to preformance

Restarting is not required nor does it make a difference.

Cool so if my PC " sleeps" it's still downloading

No, when the PC is in Sleep mode, the system is no longer in operation. Drives spin down and all components either shut off or go into a low power state.
