I have a friend who upgraded to a GTX 960 and had nothing better to do with his old GTX 760 so he's going to give it to me. I know how to put it into my PC, but what I'm unsure about is what happens after that?

I know that he received a disc with his new card so he could install drivers and whatnot, but his computer was pre-built, so he doesn't have the disc that would come with the 760. I don't know what I'm able to do without this.

Any help would be appreciated!

Download the latest drivers from geforce.com.

So, on your motherboard, you need to find the PCIE ports and plug it in to that. To find the drivers you might just need to find them online. Watch one of Linus' build logs. He talks about drivers at the end of them.

Inset the new graphics card into your motherboard using the correct PCI lane and then connect the power and screw it into the read IO ports. Then connect the power (DO ALL OF THIS WHEN THE SYSTEM IS OFF – cable unplugs) after you have plugged the power to the gpu either 8pin or possibly 6pin, connect your monitor and power the system on. It should display an image without the drivers. Then using he GeForce experience from NVidia it will scan your system and download the latest drivers for you, then u ready J make shore that your Power supply can handle the new card.
