Strange problem with new build

Pugsicle

So I recently built my brother a new computer and it worked fine for a few days but then it would take forever to boot up then would be a half black screen where I could see and move the mouse but I could not click on anything. If I unplugged the monitor and plugged it back in the result of my clicking would come up on the screen but the windows would be black boxes. So after contemplating for a while I wiped the hard drive and reinstalled windows. Worked fine for a few days and now it will act like its loading up fine, then after it gets past the windows loading screen it will flash the screen and never boot up fully. Monitor is fine as I am testing it on mine which works perfectly as well as the GPU is fine as the old one I gave him turned out to have bit the dust so I am using mine to test. It has been suggested that it could be a windows bug or maybe even the hard drive. What do you guys think?

System specs would be a good start.

But sounds like hard drive errors or a failing SATA controller on the motherboard.

Here is a link to the PcPartPicker list http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NgJdWZ

So if it was a failing SATA controller would I just plug it into another SATA port?

Your Link doesn't work. If it's the SATA controller then you probably need to replace the motherboard. If the power supply is bad it can give you crazy problems like that too.
