New to AMD

Go to solution Solved by MJOLNITR VIPER,

Welcome to the Forum!

If you want a continuous desktop between the two then all you need to do is set up Eyefinity in AMD's Catalyst Control Center.  In CCC click AMD Eyefinity then under that Create Eyefinity Display Group.  CCC can be downloaded when you download the graphics drivers. ( http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonaiw_win8-64.aspx )

If you want 2 separate windows for different desktops then just right click on the windows desktop and click Screen Resolution, then in the box hit Detect, then where it says Multiple Displays: set that to Extend Desktop.

Both of these are done after setup.

*Note: IF you will be gaming on this, I dont recommend it because the center of your view will be the bezel and that the APU migh not be powerful enough.

I just purchased an Asus AMD F2a85-M Pro and A10-6800K.  I am new to the bios screen but think I have it figured out except for the following.  I can't get the motherboard to recognize a second monitor running off of the internal graphics.  I was told you can run up to three monitors but I would love to have the second monitor working.

I running two 6850 x 1050

  • one-dvi
  • one-vga

According to the manual this is the correct combination for dual monitors.  The second monitor works during boot up but not on the home screen.

Can anyone help a new girl to the forum.

Thank you!

Christie

Well AMD bios should be simple. However i recommend connecting the monitor AFTER setup is done. And dual monitors on the APU's integrated graphics isn't really recommended, might aswell get a graphics card.

Welcome! Oh by the way, prepare to be bashed for your gender. We rarely have girls AT ALL!!

The multi monitor is being configured in the catalyst.

Are you doing any gaming ? Because then running the game on 1 screen is advisable.

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K 4,6GHZ OC MB: MSI Mpower z77  RAM: Kingston Genesis 1600Mhz CL9 16GB

GPU: ASUS R9 290 Direct CUII  PSU: Corsair AX 860

I don't think she's running a game off of both screens but instead having a primary and an auxiliary display.

She should be fine after setup.
