Car problem

Our family car ( volvo v50 , 1.6 diesel engine) has a problem , the newer diesel engines have a system ( outside the engine) which detects the big particles ( just to note that diesel in Bulgaria is rubbish and causes the problem) cant clean the big ones so it goes to emergency mode and bottlenecks so to say the engine. We cant find how to solve it we tried everything including asking the mechanic , the only way to fix this a lot is drive into almost a straight line.

unhook the battery for 10 minutes. this will reset the cars computer
