New GPU not folding.

I put an GeForce 8400 GS in one of my folding because because I could, and added the folding slot. I exited the program and restarted it, and now it's just sitting there and says the GPU is "ready". Is there a specific reason why it's not working? Does it have to wait until the CPU finishes its current WU and downloads the next WU before it can download a WU and start? I looked through and followed the F@H guides for adding a new slot, and can't figure out why it's not folding.

The 8400GS is a VERY old card. F@H does not work on older GPU's, so you are out of luck.

 

The lowest-end card you likely want to be folding with is the nVidia GTX200 series, but even then i heard they will discontinue GPU folding for cards lower than the 400 series soon.

Yes, the 8400 GS does work for folding. F@H's website specifically says so. The important thing is that it works with CUDA.

Actually no, it doesn't. The FAH site is not up-to-date at all and the GPU witelist contains every supported card, ever, not just currently supported ones. As mentioned, pretty much need a 400 series + NVidia card to fold. 6000's series on the AMD side I believe.

White list is in your config. Search your drive for GPU.txt. As for the FAH not up-to-date, ask them :) Some of the pages are from 2013. :)

I have that document/list, updated on 27 May 2015, and the 8400 GS is on it.

It is a CUDA card and should be folding. I did a ton of research before buying anything. It should work and I need to figure out why it is saying "Ready" and not actually folding.
