Hey guys,

Before i "reserve a copy" of windows 10, i wanted to know if when you upgrade to windows 10, does your product key get upgraded to windows 10 and will it make it to where you can no longer install windows 7 with that product key? cause i didn't buy windows 7 ultimate for nothing

Will that work even after the 1 year free upgrade is over?

They must allow it, though I don't know how they would. Perhaps that's what reserving helps with?

EDIT: According to http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-win_upgrade/is-microsoft-is-going-to-provide-iso-for-windows/959b5db8-1561-42a5-a969-be3d851ee77e, ISOs will be available to download from Microsoft. Also, your Windows 10 license will be tied to your Microsoft account, so you just need to sign in and it will be activated.

let say i already upgraded to windows 10 from my 8.1

and then get the windows 10 iso and turn it into a bootable pendrive

so if something happen should i need to make clean installation of windows 10, i use the the pendrive
will my key from 8.1 works with the windows 10?

basically i'm asking if i could just skip 8.1 entirely and clean install windows 10 using the 8.1 key i had
