So basicly i never overclked in my life and i dont even know what programs you use for it. I was thinking of buying another gtx 970 and sli both of them while overclocking procesor at the same time. I was woried about my psu aswell as it is only 650w. Aswell i thought mayby its gona be enought just to overclock my gpu and cpu at the same time and dont get second 970 any thoughts?

Are you experiencing performance issues at all?

Why overclock at all unless you need it..?

Suggest googling/youtube searching some guides on how to OC the z97 platform, and also the guides for OC'ing the 4770K.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Overclocking your gpu will help more than overclocking your cpu for games, however if your cooling is good enough, you can do both at the same time. Power should not be a problem, as the 970 is very power efficient...

There are plenty of videos on YouTube that will likely explain it better and faster than I can...

Cpu: Ryzen 2700 @ 4.0Ghz | Motherboard: Hero VI x370 | Gpu: EVGA RTX 2080 | Cooler: Custom Water loop | Ram: 16GB Trident Z 3000MHz

PSU: RM650x + Braided cables | Case:  painted Corsair c70 | Monitor: MSI 1440p 144hz VA | Drives: 500GB 850 Evo (OS)

Hey deadric,

Is there a specific reason why you would like to OC? Are you looking at overclocking only the CPU or the other parts as well? You would need a custom CPU Cooler in order to safely overclock the processor. Here's a video that might be useful:
If you are looking for a way to improve your build, I would suggest to consider a SSD for it. Although WD Black is a great performance drive that can handle heavier tasks, it should boost all your transfer speeds and overall responsiveness and dramatically decrease all loading and boot times.

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^
