Hi everybody!

I'm building a new pc based on the recommendations from logical increments, using a r9 280x and fx 8320 processor. But when it comes to a choosing a case I am overwhelmed by the wide range of cases and different reviews I have found.

I'm looking for an atx compatible mid size case with side panel. Not a big fan of fans with led lights or flashy cases...I prefer something that could fit in an office and still look cool (does that make sense to anyone other than me??). I live in Spain... so prices are not the best and some options (Phanteks enthoo pro...) don't seem to exist at all.

So.. something that looks good, decent cable management, allows for good airflow and is not to noisy at around 100€. I don't mind going above that if it's really worth it, but keep in mind that the rest of the pc is not that amazing to start with.

Here are the parts to fit in:

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo 43.1 CFM CPU Cooler  (€18.92 @ Amazon Espana)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard  (€93.00 @ Amazon Espana)
Memory: Kingston Fury Red Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory  (€62.20 @ Amazon Espana)
Storage: Kingston Fury 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  (€61.00 @ Amazon Espana)
Monitor: Asus VX239H 60Hz 23.0" Monitor  (€152.61 @ Amazon Espana)
Total: €884.43

Still need to make a few adjustments with SSD and PSU, but around those lines.
Should I swap the motherboard for a 970 gaming? it costs about 15€ more...
I will invest sometime in the future in sleeved cables and a CPU water cooler

And I have a list of possible cases that I have considered:

Corsair:
  • 300R with window (100€) This one looks good, but I have read very different reviews...
  • 200R with window (82€)

NZXT

  • H440 (125€) Looks great but no external 5.25" which is a drawback for me
  • S340 (85€)

Bix fenix shinobi with window (60€)

Aerocool 1000 (75€) I have found very few reviews about this one, but it seems to have good features for a decent price

Well... those are some of the cases I have been considering, any feedback, help to choose, advice,  alternative options, recommendations, etc. would be really appreciated!!

The prices are more or less the same in all webpages I have seen, depending on what they charge for delivery, but the ones I have posted should be quite representative of the average.

Thanks for reading and forgive any errors, English is not my first language

It might be a bit over your budget, but the Corsair Obsidian 450D is a really nice case. In my opinion it fits in a office, it's black/grey, has no L.E.D lights or any other flashy things and it has a window. Easy to build in (don't have to screw much), and perfect for cable managment.

Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow | PSU: Corsair RM750X V2 | MOBO: ASUS ROG Strix B450-F GAMING | CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D | Cooling: CM Masterliquid ML240L RGB | RAM: Ballistix 32GB DDR4 3600MHz CL16 RGB | Storage: Samsung 970 EVO M.2 + Kingston NV2 NVMe | GPU: XFX Radeon RX 6950 XT Speedster MERC 319

I don't know if it's available in your country. I've found it's a very competitive case, but doesn't cost quite as much. And it's not as ugly as the cheaper cases tend to be.

Can you get the fractal design arc midi R2 for cheap enough? That's a decent case and looks pretty understated.

Are you going to be video editing?

Hyper tx3 is a noisi cooler. go at least to hyper 212. You won't regret it

Concider asus m5a97 EVO R2.0 for mobo. Just think about it.

Probably no video editing.

I didn't know it was noisy, I will switch it for the 212.

How does it compare to the gigabyte? They both cost the same, and both are in the logical increments build...to be honest I just went with the gigabyte because of the colour! I will compare the feature now!

Really like that case! It costs 150€... a bit expensive but seems worth it. I'm only concerned of overspending on the case instead of investing on the cpu and gpu

Hyper T4 and 412 are also good. I think Asus has more ports and a better DAC (audio). I have it and i love it.

It's a really nice case that I strongly recommend! If you are going to use it for gaming I would go with an i5 or i7, but that too might be a bit much for your budget. The GPU is fine, it's equivalent with a GTX 770 from the Nvidia side.
