I'm looking for a 1080p Monitor to play games/light editing/create art with. As far as main specs go, I will be using 2 GTX 970's in SLI an intel 4790k Processer with 16 GB of ram. I will be overclocking the CPU for sure, and the GPU if necessary. Money isn't a super big issue but I don't to spend$600+ on a G-Sync monitor but wouldn't mind spending$200-$350 dollars on a basic 144hz display. If it helps, the main games I will be playing are games like League of Legends, Tomb Raider, Skyrim, the Battlefield Franchise, MMORPG's, and some new games coming out. I will play mostly on Ultra Settings. Main question is the G-sync feature worth the price-tag. Also, will it drop/cap FPS? Thank you for answering.

Your not going to find a cheap gsync monitor. I haven't tried one yet just seen the demo's. Its great tech but I just don't think its worth the current price.I can deal with a little screen tearing here and there.. Hell we've been dealing with it this whole time lol

For clarification, I understand G-sync monitors are 500+ maybe I should rephrase my question, Is the feature worth the price? Thank you for the responses so far and sorry for not being clear enough.

For those games 144hz is not a necessity

League and BF4 are a lot smoother at 144hz in my experience and BF4 is getting 120 tick servers soon, so it will make an even bigger difference.

Yeah but is it worth spending the money on a 144hz panel instead of say ips, g-sync, higher res etc.?

Longboarders/ skaters message me!

Kinda depends on personal preference,  I can't really speak for any of that because I have an ROG swift, which is g-sync, 144hz, higher res.  I didn't really have to pick "one or the other" I basically got the whole package lol

Although it looks VERY VERY close in color accuracy and picture quality to my IPS PB278Q, so I feel as if TN monitors have come a very long way in the past few years.

I hear some of the BenQ lineup have very color accurate TN pictures if you adjust the settings a bit.
