1. Get a cheaper case.

2. You can get a used R9 270 for $100, I've bought 3 used 270s, no problems.

3. Some people will hate me, but get a AMD 860k, it has 4 cores, and runs decently. A board I would suggest for this is the MSI A78M-E35

4. Get 8GB RAM if at all possible, or upgrade in the near future

The rest is fine, happy building :)

I'm a fucking AMD kawaii weeaboo desu I have seen the light

You can OC the pentium beyond 4GHz with the stock cooler so I suggest you dont pick the 212 EVO now and instead throw that extra money on GPU and get R9 270(x) or at least R7 265.

I will try to make build and edit it in here.

EDIT:

You are missing storage in your original post so I am asuming you have some HDD at home so I didnt included it either.

I agree with the 860k but he said he will be upgrading so I think that going the FM2+ route wouldnt be great for that.

I guess it depends on when he's upgrading. If within a year, the definitely the Pentium. But I didn't read the upgrading part, so yes, Pentium for a better upgrade path.

You'll get a metric'fuck'ton more performance if you bought a used system off someone who's upgraded and getting rid of old parts.

But it would take time to acquire decent yet cheap deals/2nd hand bargains and overall,.. it would probably be a better system.

But it would also probably mean no upgrade path if using an older system... even if its faster than the new PC, at least the newer motherboard listed in a previous post can also take a better processor, memory and technologies later on.

I know this contradicts itself, but buying used can have more 'value' to YOU and the performance you crave than buying new, even though the newer boards have a better upgrade path.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
