Kind of confused

I ordered car seat covers from a website and it came in and when i got them i found a small hole on it so i contacted customer support on their website for a refund and they approved the refund said i will see the money on the statement in 3-5 business days so i asked them where do i ship the item back and they said i can keep it so im not sure if they made a mistake or if thats normal.

Why would they want back car seats with holes?

Its not that uncommon because if you ship it back its just going to be trashed anyways some companies will ask for a photo of the destroyed product and have you do things like cut mice cables or headphone cables.

yea but they didnt even ask for a photo they just took my word for it.
