Mac to PC Trade

Hello everyone. I've been presented with a possible trade and wanted to get your opinion, wasn't really sure where to post though.

My girlfriends brother just got a new laptop and didn't realize it was so large, he lives in Italy and travels a lot. I jokingly suggested I'd trade him but he actually considered it. I cross referenced the specs and it's not a bad deal, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. He mentioned throwing in some cash too. What do you guys think?

basically its a question do you mind giving up IOS?

 

the build quality of yours wrecks his. so keep that in mind, but you will be getting a  minor spec bump. 

 

everyone here tends to be a android/windows/intel/nvidia fans until they die. so most will recommend the swap. Honestly it seems like a decent idea if you can get some cash out of it,

my list goes android/windows/amd/amd , but currently Intel makes better cpus, so yeah...

Your getting the better specs for less actual value if he makes up some of the difference I would do it.

Doing business with people that are close to you.  Eeesh!  This makes things more complicated.  If it was just a stranger I'd say yes make the deal for sure but I don't know in this situation.

15.6 is better than 17.3 inches, but not by much. He'd be better off with a 13.3

You're pretty much getting a slightly faster cpu and gpu, much worse screen, probably less reliable wifi, and most important of all- worse accessories (you'll be downgrading to a garbage pc trackpad and maybe keyboard). I'll advise you to test drive the laptop for at least a week to see if you notice anything different (in terms of performance) and if your overall experience received a downgrade. We're in a time where specs don't really tell much as to how the experience will be.
