AMD Rising UP

I just hope their stocks go up. They dropped over 13% today because of their earnings report. AMD are still in the hole by a long way financially. They won't "rise up" till they get their server and business side of things sorted out. Intel and Nvidia are VERY far ahead of AMD in that respect.

NVIDIA's current cards are competitive against AMD's cards. I don't see how their 700 series cards are "shady."

No idea what you're talking about. NVIDIA is only offering it on 600 series cards and above because they feature the H.264 hardware encoder. Anything below that doesn't not have it, and it's the only way to achieve the low performance hit they're claiming.

well with 9xxx coming out and WAY better drivers It just seems to me that AMD has it for Next years GEN and maybe after that i'm sure Nvidia will come out with something to break your wallet with AMD as-well.

I think Nvidia are more focused on GRID than on desktop GPUs, that's where they need to expend resources to evolve their business, shield is an experiment to test the methodology.

I found them a bit shady myself. Given the fact that amds current cards came out before the 600 series. And are pretty much Still a better price to performance ratio while coming with free games. I was considering getting both a 770 and 7760 but after looking at reviews, I realized that a 7970 in almost all cases beats a 770 and a 7950 beats a 760. And with amds new cards coming very soon and they are already better performing better than nvidias 700 series, I see no reason to go nvidia any time soon
