So I posted a few minutes ago that I have a problem with my 970s, Original Topic:http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/374745-gtx-970-doesnt-work/

So what I observed is that my MBO gives me a "A2" type error and the VGA led is on meaning there is a problem with the GPU

My motherboard is the ASUS Maximus VII Ranger

Sorry for creating another topic for the same problem, but I'm a little  concerned

Nope I don't but my 660,770 and integrated work just fine

And you've checked all the cables? including sata etc?

Are both 970's defect?

If so i think it's an outdated BIOS or something odd like that.

Buying 2 970's and both being defect are highly unlikely.

When in doubt: C4

I was gonna clean the system in a couple of weeks so I'm simply gonna do that in a few days(maybe tomorrow), probably gonna get everything out and change all the cables that I can and see if that does it

Yes, it seems the BIOS, if your other GPUs are working, but both of the 970s are not working, its either you got 2 broken 970s (1%) or you have an unupdated bios which does not recognise them (99%).

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link
