Hey there,

So im thinking it is about time i get a new rig,or i should say a rig.

My last rig kind of died,so i was left with no rig for about a year now i believe.

I didn't really have any money to spend on any rig as most of my earning from my job went to my parents which are in debt.

Sorry for the long story,so i`ve put in some extra hours and managed to save up a considerable amount for a new rig which i want to make sure is future proof.

27" 2560X1440 monitor so that's why im planing on going all out with the gpu.

I am from israel so our pricing over here is quite different and mostly way more expensive,i will include the pricing for each part in USD.

Well my AIM is mostly gaming and general use.

I am planing on getting a 27" 2560X1440 monitor in the future. for now i have a dell u2311h which is 1080P.

I dont need any peripherals or an os.

As for why i am upgrading i explained above. =]

So with some suggestions from friends the rig i was planing on getting is this:

Intel Core i7 5820K 3.3Ghz 15MB L3 Cache s2011-3=499.74 USD

Corsair Hydro H110 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler=164.86 USD

MSI X99S SLI Plus LGA2011-3, Intel X99, DDR4, 4xPCI-E 7885-002R=306.54 USD

Corsair Vengeance LPX 4x4GB DDR4 2133MHz CL15 Kit=358.06 USD

Asus GTX980 4GB STRIX OC DirectCU II GDDR5 DVI HDMI 3xDP PCI-E=785.67 USD

Western Digital Caviar Black WD3003FZEX 3TB Sata III=217.67 USD

‏Samsung 850 EVO M.2 MZ-N5E250BW 250GB SSD mSATA III=179.03 USD

SeaSonic 850W Active PFC Modular 80+ Gold X-850 SS-850KM/X-850 PSU=191.91 USD

Corsair Graphite 760T Full Tower Case with Window No PSU=238.28 USD

I would love to hear so opinions on how can i improve this rig or if i should change some parts.

Sorry for my retarded english,im trying :P

And yet again thanks ahead to anyone that helps =]

dont spend all that money on the rig

you wont need a X99 for gaming

the i5 4690K + Z97 and GTX980 will do the job as well

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Crappy build.

  1. Get an i5 4690k. Maybe wait for Broadwell and skip to the 5th gen i5 (it's only 1 month anyway...)
  2. Z97 mobo. With SLi support. Anyone will do, just get the cheapest.
  3. Get 8gbs of the cheapest DDR3 RAM you can find. It won't make any difference. Don't be fooled, faster RAM won't improve your gaming experience. And neither will 16gb.
  4. SLI 970. Maybe wait for AMD's 3xx series (again, only 1 month until the release). Otherwise, a 980 is just dumb.
  5. Do you REALLY need 3TB of HD?
  6. You don't need 250gb of SSD (unless you want a dual OS machine). That's another stupidity that people believe. I've got a 120gb one, and I'm yet to use the remaining 40gb.
  7. Get a 650w PSU. No need for more.
