I have a Linksys E900, and I've been experiencing a problem where my ping in games skyrockets randomly, and I strongly suspect that the reason for this is because people on the connections are downloading things. At times, it has been bad enough to cause me to time out of games.

I've already set the QoS so that the games I play and my computer are prioritized, but it hasn't solved this problem fully.

Is there any way to fix this?

Is the router bad, or is the ISP just bad?

Well unfortunately no matter what router you have, if you have a very slow connection then your ping will go up as soon as anyone else does anything. What is your internet speed?

The plan is 18Mb/s down 0.5 Mb/s up. It goes above 18Mb/s down sometimes, but the up is capped at 0.5Mb/s.

Half a megabit up is just terrible. If anyone sends a request for even a webpage it will kick up your ping by a ton. I think that is your problem there sir.

Oh god, really? I guess I'll need to call the ISP and try to get some kind of upgrade, then.
