1. Budget & Location
So my budget is around 750 (previously 600) euros, which I believe is around 530 pounds, also, I live in Ireland!
2. Aim
The aim for this PC is to be for gaming. I enjoy games such as Assetto Corsa, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Arma 3 and DayZ.  However my current computer really struggles with games like Arma 3, Assetto Corsa and DayZ. However, it is also extremely important that this PC build will have no trouble with running sims as well, for instance Flight Simulator X is very important to me! :)
3. Peripherals
I won't be paying for the monitor, Keyboard and Mouse so these are not included in the budget! I already have a 2TB Seagate external hardrive, however I'll include an SSD to install the OS on in the budget. I already have access to windows 7 so I won't need to purchase that! :)

I know it may be a bit of a stretch, but I have decided for definite that the CPU I use will be Intel rather than AMD.

I really need help because I haven't a clue when it comes to things such as picking motherboards, cases, power supplies or anything else I need! Which leads me to another question, what else will I need such as tools etc. I also plan on using wifi, does this mean that I will need to buy a Wireless card separately? I'm such a noob! Please give me your advice guys :) By the way I was messing around on Pc Partpicker and this is what I came up with. I am missing a few parts obviously, and I'm wondering will I even be able to complete the build with the current budget! Here's the link : http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/GdTnhM

Please help me guys! All help is appreciated :)

Honestly £420 will not get you a lot. You are much better saving up and buying something decent so you don't have to upgrade everything again in like 2 months time.

If you want my attention, quote my post or I will not see it. I ignore builds that do not use PCPartPicker.

Everything is good except:

You NEED a quad core in order to play most games well, recommend the FX-6350 if you don't mind switching to AMD, beware that if you get a motherboard with the wrong socket you're S.O.L. The FX-6350 uses AM3 or you could go with the FM2 AMD Athlon X4 760k, the one I happen to have.

You would need to buy a wireless card separately depending on motherboard, most you need to.

If you're going to use an external HDD seriously check to make sure you have USB3.0 available, also make sure it's 7200RPM spin speed otherwise have fun in the loading screen.

For looks sake, I would forget the Optical drive and get an external one.

DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON POWER SUPPLY, This thing fuels your system. Make sure it is from a trusted brand and is at lease 80 Bronze Certified. Also, I recommend you go modular. I didn't and now I have a mop of MOLEX to deal with.

Tool wise, get a screw driver. Boom, you're set, I have zip ties and a flash light on standby, that's it.

A good case I've found is the Thermaltake H22 Versa (Another one I happen to own but I have it sitting on my desk and it's perfect!), I personally hate coloured LEDs.

For Motherboards you can sort of afford to cheap out with this part. The standard size is ATX, some cases can only hold mATX, the Thermaltake one I'm talking about can hold ATX.

Make sure the motherboard's CPU socket matches your CPU. I bought a CPU not knowing that sockets differed and out of pure luck it fit my motherboard.

Sidenote: Get Nexus Mod Manager for Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3.

You're all set.

And that's bull. Why? Because you don't need 4 cores. FX-6350 gets beaten by i3 in games. Yeah, it does. It's 2 core/4 threads. Most games still use 1 or 2 cores.

And you can go for this. More than enough for gaming. You can go with i3 and r9 280 if you want to go ~420, 430 budget.

Hey Joe! Thanks very much for the reply, I wasn't expecting one as detailed as that! :) The reason I want to go with Intel is so I can upgrade to maybe an Intel i7 a few months down the line. Which is why I need a LGA1150 Socket.......i think! haha :) However for the motherboard, the Micro ATX's are cheaper so I'd rather go for one of those. However, how would this limit me for upgrading down the line? And is it compatible with the case you mentioned? And sorry for all the questions, but is the video card I picked both suitable for my needs and compatible with everything? I'm sorry for being a total noob!

I may have gone slightly mad with the budget. this is just an idea!

P.S Already have Nexus Mod Manager ;)

If you plan only on gaming, no need for i7. Also that board is not primarily for OCing, get a Z97. Also, stock cooler isn't that great for OCing.

You're welcome, mATX will naturally have less ports. You will most likely be unable to have 2 GPUs and might have a limit on hard drives and case fans. That's about it. MSI and Asus make great motherboards. You will only need an i5 as nearly all games can only utilize 4 cores, not 8 cores. As for video cards, as far as I'm concerned any card will work with any config providing you have enough power to power them, and they can actually fit in your pc. With the case, anything you see on my profile spec sheet will fit in that pc case as it's the one I use. There is windowed and non-windowed versions of it too. I'm also assuming you're perfectly fine with stock speeds like I am. I have OC'd my RAM.   :P

Hey guys I really do appreciate your help! So according to the incompatibility notes the motherboard I had originally decided on using didnt have USB headers so I had to change that! I am still slightly worried about the other incompatibility notes that are at the bottom of the page. And the case only comes with 1 USB port, is that enough?

I made a few changes to the build. What do ye think?

1) You can get a 280x for that money which is quite better than 280

2) You should change to a z97 mbo for OCing, h81 weren't made for that. Some can be OC'd, but you might have some issues.

3) If you're OCing, you should take another cooler, the stock is bad for that.

4) You might need another case for enough space for the GPU.

So the problem is that OCing at that budget is gonna be hard.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

Don't think il be overclocking! :) Ok so I changed in the 280x. According to the site, the case can take a GPU of up to 315mm or something like that, the 280x is 294mm! So that should be fine. Ok so I've changed the Motherboard! Here is everything! ==========> http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/YvrDVn

That appears to get rid of all the incompatibilities! Any other comments? :)

Love the case. :P simple yet elegant. Not a big fan of high profile RAM, decent motherboard, preferably I would go NVIDIA but that's just me being a fanboy. That's a decent build though. :P
