Is there something like this?

I am looking for a product that you can put a cable into and the cable will retract on it's own.  It's basically a measuring tape, but the tape is the wire.  If you don't exactly get what I am thinking about,  please let me know.

you can get cables that do that, but i dont think you can buy a thing to do that to a regular cable.

Or if it's a thicker cable, look at old vacuum cleaner and ghetto it somehow. I've never seen anything like that (but I haven't seen many things).

those vaccuum cleaner reels are about 10cm across, its not really a pocket sized solution.

Yes, I know, but he didn't tell what kind of cable we wants to use. That's why I also suggested that for thicker/bigger cables.

 

If he wanted to use it for usb cable, I'm sure he won't carry whole vacuum cleaner
