Badass? or doomed to join the rest?

what do you all think is ARK the newest in a line of survival games on early release going to be a hit? or will it sink like the rest of the "hyped" survival games?

one issue i can see with this game is the requirements to run, in an interview one dev said it takes a fairly beast computer to run this at 1080p 30! fps i mean 30fps?! it makes me sick to think of playing a first person fps style game at 30fps or possibly less. i dont know about any of you but my computer is still using a 5 year old gtx 560ti. although im building a new one i wont have it in time for this game, so time will tell if its as hard to run as we where told?

i can smell the 720p from here.

although they did say they where aiming for 30fps at 1080p on console

gota admit though they are crazy fun with a group of friends, i spent far to many hours on dayz and rust so on.

My 750ti and 4670k (bought cpu used for 50 dont judge my choice of video card)  keeps a framerate of 50-70 most fo the time at 1080p

I've been having quite a lot of fun with it, performance isn't great at the minute but it's perfectly playable.

I've enjoyed it so far in my small (4 hours) time playing it. I think there is a lot of potential, and a lot of fun to be had. There's a lot more in it than most early access games.

 

Optimization hasn't really happened yet - but it's an early access game. Rough around the edges, with polishing left to do!

I haven't played it myself, but I've seen a fair bit of gameplay (JackFrags). It looks like a game with a lot of potential. My only concern is that it will turn into a shoot on sight game, once it's open to the public. I'm afraid that it will ruin the awesome interaction that I saw in the gameplay. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Err it always could.. It's like a budget gaming PC. There is no engine it cannot handle.
