Hey Guys

So I'm building new computer and I have come a dilemma of what video card to buy.. My main focus is 4K video streaming and editing, also a bit of gaming.

The two cards I'm looking at are the 980 and the Titan X. What should I do? Buy 980s and go 2 or 3 way SLI or go with the Titan X and SLI it later on..

My PC specs

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61 106.1 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus X99-DELUXE ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2666 Memory
Storage: Samsung 850 Pro Series 512GB 2.5 Solid State Drive
Storage: Western Digital Red 3TB 3.5 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive
Storage: Western Digital Red 3TB 3.5 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive
Storage: Western Digital Red 3TB 3.5 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive
Case: Corsair 750D ATX Full Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2 1300W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: Pioneer BDR-209DBK Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro (OEM) (64-bit)
Monitor: Asus PB287Q 60Hz 28.0

Most of the components will be upgraded later on. Just something to get me off the ground at the moment..

Thanks in advance

The 980's are going to come into there own when DX12 drops and supposedly adds vram but Titan X will do better today with the 12GB vram. Personally i would go for a titan x and sli it later. Other people have other opinions and arguments. Don't just listen to me.

3-way 980s would be extremely power and so would a titan x, Titan X in SLI otherwise Vram will limit you.

Hey MaksimK,

The build looks pretty powerful as it is and I doubt you'll need an upgrade soon.

Regarding the GPUs, I'd go with the one with more VRAM. Look up some comparisons on the internet for each GPU when working with 4K and check as many reviews and commends as you can. Calling the manufacturer for some advice and some additional info could also be a good idea. :)
