Hi, let me start off by saying I have no current knowledge of what defines a computer to be suitable for gaming.

The computer that I am using at the moment is something that was handed down to me from my older brother, what I currently know is that I can't get 30fps on low settings in older games; ie, Battlefield 3

I have been putting money aside and I currently have 1,500$ to build a computer that will run games on high settings with frame rates that are 60fps+. If that is even possible at my price point.

So what I am asking is if someone on this forum can setup a list of parts for under 1,500$ that will play current titles such as GTA V, Battlefield: Hardline and The Witcher.

I already have all of the peripherals for the computer and I have a Windows 7 iso on a USB drive. So there is no reason to include them in the budget.

General partslist that will do you very well for gaming @ 1080p.

I picked some parts simply by price. So feel free to switch around memory colours, motherboard, gpu cooler etc.

I honestly don't see the need to spend any more unless you are wanting to buy a better mobo. This is roughly $150 under budget

If you want my attention, quote my post or I will not see it. I ignore builds that do not use PCPartPicker.

Don't buy an Asrock board. I've found they're so unreliable and break after a year or so

The i7 is a good processor for editing, but doesnt give a gain versus a i5 for gaming. Its better to save up for a dual GPU setup.
