Okay, So in a previous post I posted, I couldn't figure out how to change the boot sequence to boot from my CD/DVD on my ancient PC.

I figured out the boot sequence, Now whenever I boot from a CD/DVD it just boots into Windows 8.1 from my hard drive (I already have the OS on the hard drive, I just want to format and re-install windows)

Can somebody please help me? My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R

When in Windows go to PC Settings --> Update and Recovery --> Recovery --> Advanced startup --> Restart Now.

This should bring you to the menu where you can boot from CD/DVD

Then from there just run a custom Windows Install, formatting the Main Partition of the Hard Drive

My computer is corrupt, whenever I boot into windows it just comes up with a black screen with my mouse cursor.

so you changed the boot sequence to dvd...but it still isn't booting to the dvd

Exactly, I've also tried removing the sata cable from the hard drive and booting straight to the dvd, but it just stays at a screen that says "Booting from CD/DVD..."
