Good DDR3 RAM?

Go to solution Solved by Suffokation,

It's overpriced.

It's ram. Ram is ram.

No. Because, ram is ram.

Hi, I was/am planning on buying Corsair Dominator Platinums for RAM DDR3 but I'm having second thoughts because of how absolutely possibly over expensive it is. So is it over-expensive or is it the right price? Is it good RAM? Is there better types of RAM for DDR3 available?

It's ram. Nothing more, nothing less. You pay premium for lower timings and higher clocks.

Having said that, G.Skill makes the best price/performance ram in the market, and they overclock really well.

Intel i7 7700K | MSI Z270 Gaming M3 | MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X| Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4 3000Mhz Samsung EVO 850 250GB | WD Blue 1TB | Corsair CS650M | Thermalright Macho Rev. A | NZXT S340

CM Storm Quickfire TK [MX Blues] | Zowie FK1 |  Kingston HyperX Cloud

It's just over priced because it looks good.

If you want cool looking ram then just get the Corsair Vengeance Pro ram.

Ram is ram, 2 different brands that have the same timings and clocks will perform identically.

G.Skill is a personal favorite for there great heatspreader and color selection while still being some of the cheapest stuff on the market, and they perform like a boss.
