Can I record my system audio and a microphone at the same time with Audacity without using external peripherals?

You should be able to. You create a new track for your system audio and a track for your microphone. I use audacity for recording my microphone as I can easily adjust the audio before video editing.

How do I set the audio to the individual tracks?

To get audacity to record playback you need to click on the dropdown box that says MME and select Windows WASAPI you should then hopefully be able to select your speakers/headphones with loopback following it. This is a more detailed guide though: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html

I got it to record both system audio and microphone but it records to the same track and what I wanted to do is have two separate audio files so I could edit the sound levels during the editing. When I create a new track all it does is just that. When I record it creates two more tracks on top of that but only records to the two new ones.
