Should the GTX980 do well in video rendering? Or should I get a Quadro instead?

Like the title said, the GPU will do rendering work only (software is premiere pro CS6) and no games

 

I don't need 10-bit color monitors, but if the quadro is better than the 980, I can vouch for it

Which quadro? The 980 should be good enough

if you're not using a 10-bit monitor, there is almost no point in spending soo much on a quadro, so I would go with the 980

Just remember you will be working with 4GBs of ram on the card not 12GBs like the Quadro m6000.

Yeah I would just get the 980 its gonna be way better than a k2000.
