Hey all, Just a quick question

I have bought a D-link router and not sure if I like it or not. its this model here http://www.dlink.com.au/products/?pid=dsl-2642B

I used to use D-link hubs at the lan parties me and some friends used to own and never had any problems (this is about 8 years ago now) my question is has D-link gone down hill or always been bad?

And if so what do you guys recomend, Ive been looking at http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=200_1439&products_id=20018

Thanks guys :D

Like pretty much all other brands they have some great products and some real shitty once.

I have used a ton of their DIR-625 and 655 Routers back in the day for clients and they were solid. But their lower versions were complete and utter garbage.

Are you looking for a modem or a router? I always found that is better to keep them separate rather than all in one.

I use the DIR-655 http://www.dlink.com.au/products/?pid=530 been rock solid for years, before that had to buy a new LinkSys every 9 months or so, always burned them up or they would just die, maybe just my luck but after three of them I passed and tried D-Link and so far so good. Netgear, well never really used their home devices but their higher end stuff works well.

Edit: Maybe its not the DIR-655 but the model before that, as mine doesn't have a USB port, that I can remember.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

I have a D-link wireless N DWA-130 usb stick that I have had for over 5 years now and the stick is still kicking with no problems, It's the only D-link product I own but if this product from them has lasted this long then I would say D-link is a pretty good brand
