Does RAM frequency matter for compatibility ?

I have 3 sticks of  2gigs of DDR3 samsung ram thats clocked at about 1600 (i think - not really sure) . I have ordered the gigabyte z97x G5 and an intel i5 4690k will it work all together ?

It will work without a doubt, it doesn't matter what speed your ram is in relation with the mobo/cpu to actually run.

It will run. Just set the profile to XMP in the bios to get 1600.

It does, actually!

Cheap / old CPU's don't support all the hertz, but with new ones it doesn't really matter.

And, the truth hertz, but motherboards can only natively support up to 1600 Mhz (maybe some can do more, but that's not DDR3 standard than).

But, normally all these things should work together lovely!
