GPU doesn't work, doesn't detect HDMI.

Okay, I tried to install a new GPU in my friends computer, and everything is plugged in. But when i tried to start the computer, the monitor says that the HDMI is not detected. The GPU is a ASUS Matrix r9 290x. I have tried to reseating the GPU, but nothing seem to work.

You have to plug it in to your motherboard, not the card... Then install the drivers for the GPU, install everything, turn it off, then connect the GPU video output and fire it up, it should work. @SpagettiNinja

The motherboard doesn't have a HDMI. He already had a GPU, this is just an upgrade.

Download DDU from HERE use it to wipe display drivers, download the driver specific for the GPU you are trying to install and try again. @SpagettiNinja

 

Don't forget to download the latest version...

explain this better

 

you install the 290..plug in the hdmi cable to the gpu and monitor with no adapters or anything

and NOTHING shows on screen when you boot?

All it shows, is that it doesn't detect HDMI.

and how about the dvi?

We dont have a dvi cable available sadly.

What motherboard are you using?

MSI P67 Military Class II Big Bang.

I can't find what display options its got, so no HDMI no dvi? 

The motherboard? No, as i said before, it doesnt have any display output of its own. Tomorrow we are going to try using a DVI cable from the GPU to monitor, if that doesnt work, i think we will RMA it.
