Well, my current computer at the moment has an i5 3570k with stock cooler, a 760 EVGA Superclock, and 1tb of old storage. Now.. I have to lists in mind, and I do realize that getting a better processor wont help me get better performance in games. However, I would like to know if getting the processor list would allow me to actually run Chrome alongside GTA V and possibly Skype(Optional) at the same time. Currently, that is not the case. But I also want to upgrade my graphics card so I can run my two monitors at 1080 with better FPS. Opinions?

Really? Ahh that is odd. Cause I do that all the time, I may have more gpu HP but that doesn't typically factor in to multitasking much.

Get a caviar blue HDD. Get a Samsung Evo 850 250gb or 500gb instead of multiple SSDS. Don't use chrome, it's a RAM hog. If you have 8gbs of ram, try and find the same exact kit of ram and get another stick or if it's sm off brand basic generic ram get like 16gbs of Kinston 1600mhz or 1866mhz. Only need a i5-4690k for more performance in games and the GTX 970 is nice.

Also just get a nice air cooler from be quiet! Like the be quiet! Pure Rock. It'll,run silent and leave some over clocking potential.

Yeah. Everything becomes so unresponsive its almost painful. And I know its not a memory problem because I'm barely using the 7 of 8 gigs I have available.. Or do you think bumping it up to 16 gigs would help?

hmmm, that is strange how many tabs are open?

Yeah, its memory is mismatched from old PC's I had. xD Im sure they dont even run at 1600.. Or even 1000 for that matter. I really am kind of deadset on an I7 though.. Because I do a bit of FAH on the side, when I can. As for coolers, I am also trying to stick with AIO's. I have an NZXT 630 so space is not an issue. ;w; But I will look into the i5 for comparison

Usually more than 20 xD Though  I dont know how that will change when I am on GTA, since even just having 1 tab open causes horrid lag.

Ifmits all this old mix matched ram Id reccodmend get a new kit of 16 g s from Kingston or G.SKILL. Then look into the Samsung 850 series for a 500gbs SSD. If you do F and A get the i7 and make sure your mobo supports it. Stick with the AIO if you want. Get a caviar blue HDDS and eather a GTX 970 or 980. What's your budget for this upgrade?

I'd say about 850 USD is the limit.. Ill look into the RAM and adjust the lists accordingly, since that does seem to be a big issue. I'd absolutely love a 980 but that just wont fit in the budget unless thats basically ALL i get.

I understand you do F@H but the i5-4690k is still very nice. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/K3qcrH Yes the i7 will be nice but I think you will enjoy a much faster boot time and load times in games with a nice 250gb SSD and caviar blue HDD with a quiet but very nice air cooler. If you want you can get a AIO but you'd be over budget. The new ram will be amazing and you could, have probably 10-20 tabs open while playing GTA.

I gonna hunch you have a setting in game that is particularly CPU heavy or another task running is heavy for what ever reason. I see little difference from having 10 to 20 tabs open and playing my game. My i5 is being used at about 70-90% A little less with less chrome tabs open. Ram is still under 7GB for me. So perhaps that is your problem, but still odd.

I also have my OS and game on two different SSD's.

That would do it, I suppose.

Ram is cheap. Try new ram, and perhaps you could save yourself the purchase of a new cpu

Owo When I checked task manager, my processor is constantly at 100 percent when I have GTAV on JUST by itself. I adjusted the list, as well as my budget.. 950 will be my max budget. Let me see about the i5..

Hmm.. Tempting.. Ill wage the i5 for a bit, because that would be a decent boost from my current and still save me money.. About 70 dollars..

in the list I showed you if you go up to 950 you can get your AIO cooler.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hcWxmGThe 970 is $40 off and it ends tommorow. But if you want exactly 950 Youd have to go with this, just a different cooler. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/g2ptdC

That is odd again.    Everything up to date? I believe they patched a problem relating to high CPU usage. if this is the case a new i5 will still have a similar problem.

Is GTA the only game that this happens in?

Mhm. Everything is up to date. GTA is the only game, granted thats the only Triple-A title I own. x-x The rest are not graphically/processor intensive.

I also wont be able to make my purchase by that time.. It will be around the end of this week or the end of next week when I am going to be able to make the purchases. ;w; But wow.. The two upgrades are very tempting.. However, I just realized. I couldnt use those processors. We'd have to add in the motherboard since mine is 1155. So that would go over budget..

And the jump in i5's would be worthwhile IMO.

Is you lga1155 board a z77?

NVM is pro4

You must be able to some overclocking on that board if you got a better cooler.

This is my current computer. IGNORE THE MEMORY, its a place holder for the 8gigs that I have.

Alright you said you have a after market cooler? I'd say use that and wait to over clock for now. Save up a little more for a x61 kraken or whatever but if the cooler you've got is decent do some slight over clocks. Nothing massive until you've got a nice cooler. This includes the mobo http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tP2HjX

Buy new ram, maybe a new CPU cooler and a gpu and overclock the cpu a bit. If that doesn't satisfy you save up and buy a new mobo and CPU.

^add in a SSD
