maximum resolution? Or Maximum pixels?

Go to solution Solved by Arty,

Ok so im helping a friend build a comp for his mom, she wants triple screens but we are trying to make it as cheap as possible.

Now heres im question we are trying to find a video card that's appropriate I know 3 1080 screens is 5760X1080 (I have this setup) but from what I can tell no video card has a "max resolution" that goes that high width wide, nvidia claims my 680s "max resolution" 4096x2160 but I run 5760X1080 frequently without issue.

So is this max resolution just BS and what really matters the maximum pixels? because im running at 6,220,800 pixels but nvidias claimed max resolition is at 8,847,360 pixels

Video cards have a max resolution, wtf u talking about ?

it is more so, each port has a max res.

and per monitor

ahh nothing ive read explains that It just says "maximum resolution" and  assumed it was the max resolution the card itself was capable off outputting, not the port itself.
