Err I was playing some Minecraft and I decided to check my GPU temps on CAM I have an R9 290x 8GB (the yellow one) and it was hitting something quite high like 86c but the app was glitching it was saying it was 83.00000001 and the load kept going above 100 so like 934 for some reason.... is the CAM because the rest of my hardwares temps were fine but feeling the side of the PC it was very hot.... I have about 5 fans and a watercooler in my system so are the temps supposed to be like this?

The card's designed to run at 95c it will be fine at any temps below that.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Are you using shaders?

Just set a limit on your fps in minecraft, (I do 120 personally) and it should bring temps down.

The 280/285/280x is not designed to run at 95c, only the 290/290x are capable of running at that temp for extended periods without damage.

@OP when was the last time you cleaned the GPU? try using MSI Afterburner to get your GPU temps to confirm that the software you're using is showing the correct temp.

Are you overclocking?

what case do you have is the gpu getting enough air flow?

Is the card dusty?

try using programs like speedfan to make sure its not just your programing spitting out numbers

I  have GameServer`s And VOIP servers the only price is that you have fun on them.
