I want to see did i win silicon lottery :)

My GPU is MSI R9 280X

I did few tests with Heaven Benchmark 4.0

Temps never go above 71C, but when i'm playing BF3 GPU hits 75C sometimes even 76C

By overclocking my GPU will i shorten its lifespan?

The more voltage you apply, the more the lifespan will be reduced. Overclocking in of itself doesn't, but overvolting does.

You didn't up the voltage or power limit, and it's staying pretty darn cool, it's seriously good to go! I'd push up the power limit and see what you get. Adding voltage is what actually takes a toll on the life. Those seem to be some pretty great temps for an AMD card too.

I don't do signatures.

Pretty good temps?

Those are normal temps...

Also op, might not wanna push the memory any more, just go to 1500 and stop there

Lets all ripperoni in pepperoni

Holy crap they really do run that hot. My Titan X gets up to 65C with an oc of plus 200Mhz core clock with no voltage increase.

Compared to the 95 degrees AMD says is totally fine, I'm going with great, as he has plenty of headroom :P For a non-reference cooler card it's normal, yeah, but it's great compared to the reference cooler. My point was that he has plenty of room to go higher.

ONLY reference coolers hit that. My lightning barely ever exceeds 70 in a torture test..

Yeah no kidding. I have a 270x in a system and it likes to be at 75C, while my overclocked 970 stays in the high 60s on a warm day.

Well I'm probably wrong then. I can only go off of a 270x i have (in a $30 Rosewill case with bad case airflow), and for some reason I was thinking 75 was normal.

Do you have had case airflow? I can only image that your CPU got so hot in BF3 thus affecting the GPU temp since BF3 is more CPU intensive than Heaven when both is equally taxing for the GPU.

My case sucks at airflow so i keep it opened

Okay, i know case sucks. But when it's open My GPU never goes above 75-76C never!

First i'm getting more RAM, then new case.

put a table fan beside it. :P

Btw, in your screenshot you didn't even overclock the card.

What do you think?

That was on a small map.

Now i will try it on a bigger map.

What is Package? you can see it on Pic?

Nothing wrong with that CPU temp, what is your 280x default voltage? Is it 1.25v?
