Why do common cracks and keygen are false positives?

I am wondering why do software "keygens" and "cracks" are flagged as viruses by Antiviruses when most of the time everyone say it's false positives?

I could be totally wrong here so anyone feel free to correct me (politely that is lol) but,

From what i remember reading up on the matter its a combination of A) they have an unsigned software signature (I.E not from a big corperation etc having been coded by someone in their basement for all we know) which can raise flags and B) some but not all from what i recall used a form of virus (this one applies specifically to cracks) that is coded to target something very specific thus cracking the game or other program allow you to play that pirated copy. Because its still a form of virus some anti virus will still flag them. In some cases they will not harm your pc because they are coded so specifically and wont run rampant but in a lot of cases that your anti virus flags them i would be weary.

As i said i could be wrong anyone and everyone feel free to (Politely) Correct me on the matter but from what i recall reading about such things thats the reasoning

For once the "anti virus software" looks for patterns, like accessing memory of other applications.
Image a virus/spyware that tries to steal your bank pin and for that reason accesses the memory of your browser.
On the other hand you have "trainers" that access the memory of your game to change the value of money you have.
Of course there are other patterns as well.

The second reason is political. I know that some antivirus/-spyware knowingly mark cracks as viruses.
Most likely they get some monetary motivation from the creator of that software.
