Hey I am somewhat of a noob when it comes to best bang for your buck in builds, I was posting to see if anyone could help.

I've been looking to build a new rig that will both play games very well as well do well when it comes to 3D modeling and other programs to that caliber.

I am wanting to spend around 2,000 on it give or take 300 if anyone could give any incite on parts and what not that would be amazing. <3

USD sorry guys.

Do you need peripherals, OS?

Might want to read this: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-reccomendations-please-read-before-posting/

I will be needing 2 monitors (1080) mouse, keyboard.

Other then that full on tower.

Here you go: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1hSLD

Case and peripherals are subjective. Pick different ones if you want. These are only my recommendations.

Also, why do you need a full tower? Unless you're doing a custom water loop, a mid-atx tower should be able to do the job just as well. As for airflow, the Tempest has some of the best airflow I've experienced.

If you want a full tower recommendation, the NZXT Phantom is the tower for my personal rig: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/nzxt-case-phan001wt

Here ya go: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1hT0m

Case/mouse/keyboard are up to your preference if you wish to change them.

This build is a little over $2000 but you benefit from the extra horsepower of the GTX780.

You could also go with an X79 build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1hT8o

You would lose some performance by dropping down to a GTX 770 but you would have more CPU power if you need it.

It's really up to what you think you need more- CPU or GPU

FX 6300 - MSI 7870 Ghz - M5A97 R2.0 - Team Vulcan 8GB - WD Caviar Blue 1TB - Rosewill HIVE 550w - NZXT Source 210 (white) - Loud Fans

Peripherals - Logitech G105 - Cobra mouse - Acer G236HL - Logitech desktop mic - Logitech LS21 - Audio Technica ATH-M30

Laptop - Acer Aspire V3 - A84500m - 7670m - 15.6" screen (1366x768) - 3.5GB DDR3  - 500GB Scorpio Blue

Thanks allot! I'll probably end up mixing the parts from these posts to best suit me without going to out of price range.

I believe that Samsung will die soon with the non-Pro version for those kinds of applications.

CPU:  Intel Core i7-3930K 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor  ($499.99 @ Microcenter)

This is gonna take your plus $300 you had in mind, why ?

because it's a 6-core, X79, 8x RAM slots (max. 64GB), Samsung 840 Pro, 3TB 7200RPM, Full-tower case, that's all that you will need for 3D rendering and gaming for the next 5yrs.

With Z77/79 you only gonna have support for only Quad-core processors, 4x RAM Slots (max. 32gb). And for this kind of application you will need a very expandable rig cause there are lots of upgrades all the time.

The samsung 840 non-pro should last 35 years if the OP writes to it 10gigs a day: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6459/samsung-ssd-840-testing-the-endurance-of-tlc-nand

I do some 3d modeling as well and other things relating to animation and I would rarely write 10gigs to my ssd.

The ssd doesn't wear down from reads but instead from writes. Unless the OP is moving data between drives all from the ssd, he'll be perfectly fine with the non-pro.

Get the samsung 840 pro for a hardcore heavy data scratchdisk, not for 3d modeling.

I never have worked on 3D modeling before, so I really don't knew too much about that, so 3D modeling does not take too much writing process, is that right ?

The files you work with shouldn't even be on the ssd when you work on them and the file sizes are pretty small. You don't write to the ssd much at all.

Only if you're a guy called Linus Sebastian that has 8x SSDs on his personal rig xD

But I got it, thanks. :)

Thanks so much this system is INSANE!!! This has everything I want and need plus more and I actually like the decision on the Pro Edition as I personally just feel more comfortable with it with it at not that huge of a cost difference.  The only thing I am worried about is that the ASrock extreme 6 is not all that great quality wise, thoughts?
