Dell case mod(UPDATED PROGRESS)26/07/13

So as you know i have a dell case, no worries im getting a new case if it decides to arrive(it was free male but its been a week).

 

Anyways to get my old case on its way im gonna do a case mod, what can you do to a dell insprion 620 tower(sorry killing isnt an option).

no, and i cant afford it. I tried once and boy it went badly. That was with an old hp pavilion that i had lying around from a customer that gave it to me and it was dead, dunno what happened but every capator exploded. I do what i can.

really? your thinking if using a tool that has a sharp blade or saw to cut out a window but you can't use a spray can?

I'd just keep the fans and throw it out. Maybe some cable management holes? Make an open air chassis and ditch the outside plastic crap?

Thats just the way I am, im half decent at cutting things but paint is a weakness area, if we ever meet on the battlefield then throw paint at me.

Ive started with the plastic front panel, i broke something and there are a bunch of screws and springs on the ground, im yet to discover what the hell I broke. The case looks a bit like the old xps cases. There are a bunch of holes at  the front as if there would be an intake fan however I thin k they ditched the idea at the last second.

Shut the side panel and use 5000 rolls of Duct tape to seal it. I never wanna see that god awful cable management every again.

No worries that cable managing isnt that bad anymore, i had a rush as i wanted to try my new gpu so i couldnt give two shits about cables, ive kinda sorted it out, this case isnt really designed to handle the massive bunch of cables you get with a 650w psu. Thats ironic as the pc gets way too hot with the side panel on, only half of the panel is attached at the top while the bottem isnt so heat can run somewhere. btw the twat that thought top mounted power supplies are clever is gonna get drop kicked by me.

You can use a dremel to cut holes and buy a sheet of metal and add it to the back of the panel to create the first top mounted psu with cable management.

I have a Dell Inspiron 580. Its almost the same case, HDD tray is diffrent. Post some more pics of it if you can please. I would love to see whats inside of it.

Painting is around £200 depending on the quality of the paint and how much i want to paint, not its not getting painted.
