Hey. I've been planning a new rig for a while now. Not sure what CPU to go with. I will be doing some Video editing, rendering, and game streaming/ recording. I am not sure to go with a 4790k quad core or a 5820k hexcore. I will have a anti virus or malware scan running in the background as well. i'm not sure if the extra money would be worth it for 2 additional cores and more threads for these things. Thanks.

The i7-4790k More then likely to even out the Gaming/Editing feel. Plus with the 5820k You will have to get a DDR4 Ram which is more expensive plus a x99 Mobo which is also a lot more expensive. If you are on more of a budget then I would go with the 4790k but if your budget is like $2500 You misewell go and make a x99 build but like Johannes said what programs will you be running and what is your exact budget and or location would help a lot and with that I may be able to put together a build for you in PcPartPicker.

I will hope to use OBS for recording and Photoshop and after effects in the future. The only problem being, I'm still a student and don't have the money for a monthly subscription for Photoshop and after effects. Although there is a small chance I could talk to someone my dad knows who is tech director for my school district and see if I could get both for free, although that's pretty unlikely.
