Looking for a Visualizer

Go to solution Solved by lubblig,

I sort of found one, it's kind of buggy during the testing I've done but it may be that Rainmeter is unstable (it uses rainmeter and I'm on a beta version...)

2Lf85qJ.png?1

Link I recommend the other version of this program below in "EDIT 2"

Might as well link Rainmeter for those who doesn't have it and want to try it out.

EDIT:

The program visuals is also buggy in that way that it doesn't go as high as it should. (It gets stuck sort of, can't really explain it, try it and see for yourself)

EDIT 2:

Like as96 said, the Monstercat Visualizer would be the better choice, the one I linked first was based on that. But if you go here instead you'll get one that has been updated a lot more and isn't as buggy. The only troubles I'm having is it's recognizing the title and artist of the song. It does show the cover but not the title nor artist. But the bugs in the previous one isn't there. So I would definitely go with this one since it'll probably get patched soon.

I recently started using spotify, I love it, but my ADHD requires some kind of visualizer to be on one of my monitors.

I am aware that spotify had a visualizer, until spotify decided to get rid of it for...whatever reason, so I am wondering if anyone knows of a program or software, preferably free, that will pick up on my current system audio activity and run a visualizer off of that. Even if it's simple colored bars.

Help appreciated, not sure if this is the right place for this.

I would've thought it was the monstercat visualizer if you didn't write rainmeter, that looks really good.

It's based on that one. If we are talking about the same one, and I think we are. I think that one is the better choice, since it is less buggy. Will update my post. Just found the monstercat one :)

I'm talking about this:

Oh, ok. Well I think thats the inspiration to it since they are so similar and it's named Monstercat visualizer. I'm guessing it's to get more people to find it or something?

I would recommend you getting this one: http://marcopixel.deviantart.com/art/Monstercat-Visualizer-for-Rainmeter-1-2-1-486330771

Just making sure you saw it, my post got a bit messy...

The first one I linked was an older version of this one when it didn't have Spotify support but I believe the original creator has added it himself. It works better in general and there are only a few bugs compared to the first one.

Changing colors is possible, you can even set it to change after genre if you'd like. Quite a neat program actually.

Yeah I've already tried, but I think you have to restart the program to get it to change, as I changed the values and nothing changed.

Now if only I could get spotify to understand that instrumental means music without singing, not just music with physical instruments in it lol

You don't have to restart the program, just right click and press Refresh skin and it'll retrieve any new changes you've made.

But as for the title and artist not showing, that's probably a bug or how my computer is setup. I don't know if it cares where Spotify is installed, but my Spotify isn't on the C drive and I'm guessing it may be the issue here.

Anyways, I just removed it (cover, artist and title text) completely and I'm using only the visualizer bars since I'm mainly using soundcloud nowadays. I'm not using spotify as much anymore so it doesn't bother me anyway.

Haha, yeah. Good luck I guess :)

Thank you for that, my bars are now red, and tinier. Going to try and remove all gap next. My spotify is installed on C, and the artist and track don't show up either, but the next, back and play buttons do work.

Oh, then I guess it's a bug. All I could think of was that the skin couldn't read spotify properly because it's installed on another drive. But then that shouldn't be the issue. Hopefully fixed in a future update then!

The play/pause next and back works for me too. I just don't need them since I have the media keys on my keyboard and, when not playing games, macro keys bind to play/pause and next and previous track on my mouse.

Funny, it seems to be working perfectly today.

Too bad this visualizer can't be changed to automatically fade through colors as the music plays, rather than just change as the genre changes.

Huh, have you done any changes in the settings that may affect that it's working today? Mine still doesn't show any titles/artist names. For some reason, it has got one cover image loaded (from the first song I tried with the program) that just won't disappear either. It isn't loading new ones and this one isn't going away. It doesn't matter what I do, still there.

Yeah, that'd be a cool feature. Maybe you can ask the developer in the comment section of the download page if it's possible to add that?

EDIT:

Haha, I'm stoopid... Just realized what the issue was. I've been listening to Spotify in Private mode/Private session which I guess has made the program unable to load what songs I'm listening to. But as soon as I went out of Private mode, there it is. Ok, now there isn't really anything that is not working for me. :)
