Is it worth getting a Directional Coupler to enhance my signal strength to my modem rather then a regular splitter provided by my ISP? I am currently getting -6 to -5 dBmv.

I never used a Directional coupler before but if you have a lot of signal loss due to a lot of splitters using a signal booster will work, I have on installed since it splits into about 10 coax ports around the house.

Yes I have a single port one though, I configured it so the input to the house immediately splits to my modem and the other line going into a booster before to the large splitter to the rest of the home. I don't seem to have problems with that setup but it is recommended that the amplifier is installed at the very beginning of the setup so there is less noise since it will be amplified also through each connection.

Why? Is your internet super slow? I wouldn't mess with it, since adding more "things" can potentially cause more harm than good.

Acceptable RX Levels are -15 to +15 Upstream, with 0 being "ultra perfect".

TX is something like +8 to +50 ish.
