Help using BFGMiner

I have BFGminer set up with GHash.io using the us1.ghash.io:3333 server.  this is my first time mining.  i have my account setup on ghash.io.  I setup bfgminer and it is open.  I have the pool enabled, but i'm not sure if I am mining or not.  BFG is open and some number at the top change from time to time.  how do i now if i am mining, or is there a button i have to pres to start mining.

I can help with programming and hardware.
