8 core

So with the next gen consoles coming out with 8 core processors i think that future games will benefit greatly from more then 4 cores... i would like to know if you also think this. Also, what is the best 8 core processor for gaming

FX 8350 is just about the only 'gaming' processor unless you count a 4 core with hyper threading then a 4770k would be good too.

Game probably won't utilize anymore than 4 cores for awhile. In fact, most games only utilize 2 cores fully, sure they run a little better on a quad core CPU but there is only about more or less 4 games that actually utilize more than 4 cores. I wouldn't worry about getting an 8 core right now or getting a CPU with hyper-threading because the time games use all 4/6/8 cores the CPU will most likely be obsolete.

the reason i think they don't utalize several cores i believe was that consoles didn't have more than 4... however the next gen will have 8 do you not think that will effect the amount of cores games will use?

Yeah, I do think that it will effect the amount of cores games will use... They will now use 4 cores...

i'm very doubtful on whether they will do anything yes the games maybe using more cores but remember the last gen consoles [xbox 360 and ps3] also had multiple cores it took them ages to do anything with them :3

It was my understanding that the extra cores were due to running multiple operating systems... Three I think on the Xbox One, not really for extra gaming benefits, just for more background processes

They do have multiple cores but they are not x86 platform.Next gen consoles are using 8core x86 platform cpu,so i believe more core will be relevant in the near future.
