Hello, Linus Town. This is my first topic and I hope you guys can help me out.

These are my PC specs:

- MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE 970A-D3 AM3+
- CPU: AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz
- RAM: Kingston HyperX 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
- GPU: Sapphire Radeon Vapor-X HD 7950 OC with Boost 3 GB DDR5
- HDD: Seagate 1TB Barracuda 7200 RPM
- PSU: Thermaltake TR2 700W
- CASE: Zalman Z11PLUS HF1

I'm having trouble running both Crysis and Skyrim at max settings. They both run around at an average of 30-55 FPS. I know they are both GPU hungry games but the weird thing is I can run Battlefield 3 at max settings at over 80 FPS with no problem at all!

I've already tried re-installing the games, re-installing the drivers, even re-installing Windows, but the problems still continue.

I'd really appreciate if you guys could help me out.

Do you have mods on skyrim, like better graphics mods? Because I know that really brings performance down a bunch. But if you are running at 1080 or higher resolution, there is no way you can run crysis 3 at max settings and good FPS with a 7950 unfortunately.

Have you updated Skyrim? There are a lot of updates which fix some issues. Tray turning off Anti Aliasing (AA). Crysis 3 is very demanding especially on ultra settings. With that gpu there is no way you could play that game at max settings with decent fps.

err....im running crysis 3 just fine...im also running skyrim with all the dlc and high res texture pack....im running that fine too.....It feels like 60fps on both...may just be a constant 55-60 but i never dip into 30's.....im sure of it.

I dont really see any difference visually with it high or low....does it do anything major?

@theamazingguy - i was under the assumption everyone could run at these settings and play like it do.....

On benchmarks, the 7950 runs at an average 35 FPS everything maxed out on Crysis 3.

Turn off anti aliasing

Skyrim however should be running well over 60 FPS. Update game and remove graphics mod (If any)

I'm talking about the original, 2007 Crysis, not Crysis 3. I'm aware you need a more powerful GPU in order to max out Crysis 3.

Do you have mods on skyrim, like better graphics mods? Because I know that really brings performance down a bunch. But if you are running at 1080 or higher resolution, there is no way you can run crysis 3 at max settings and good FPS with a 7950 unfortunately.

I don't have any mods and I have updated the game to its latest version.

I'm using driver version 13.5 Beta2.

this guy is at 2560x1440...and he apparently gets 30-60fps...at 1080 i would be expecting 60+non stop......maybe in intense scenes it drops to 45-50 but everywhere else 60....atleast

its the beta driver and how the holy crap are you not getting constant 60+fps at 720p.......a 7950 is OVERKILL for 720p gaming....there is something wrong withyou gpu sir. RMA that thing as fast as you can if you still can.....get another one or just drop down to a 7870 to save some money....

I know, dude, that is what makes no sense. These are the only games I'm having trouble with.

I'm going to install the driver and let you know if it worked.

A 3970x with a gtx titan cant max the game at 2560x1600. Wonder how long before we get 60fps on crysis 3 on 4k. I guess your system should be fine with crysis 3 if you mess around with teh AA settings as thats  the make or break area. btw you dont have to add your name after what you say as you profile is to the left.
