I recently reformatted my computer, no hardware or software changes, just wanted to reformat. Everything was fine until I decided to reinstall and launch CS:GO, which on first time running, installs some DX11 stuff. After it installed that, some (not all) text became blurry, for example, tabs in chrome are blurry, address bar still clear, most of the content on the page is still clear as well.

I think it affects some of my games too, but it's a bit harder to tell in those.

I've tried a lot of the fixes I found online, toggling dpi scaling on certain programs, checking graphics drivers are up to date, GPU scaling off, etc.

None of these things seemed to fix my problem.

Was just curious to see if anyone else has had this problem or knows how to fix it.

You said you tried scaling but did you also try the sclaing in windows itself? It sounds exactly what this is. The vectorized fonts are clear and the tabs and stuff are not. Happens on my 3K laptop as well. Set that scaling to lower then what it is and reconfigure cleartype maybe.

@JelleDekkers - All my drivers are up to date, was one of the first things I checked.

@Jebble - Tried windows scaling and GPU scaling, just tried reconfiguring cleartype which did nothing.

I did however just notice, that it's only the left half of my screen that's affected... I'm not sure if this is because my GPU is junk now and can't handle the screen, a driver conflict, or some other issue.

  What monitor do you have? I have this exact same problem with my rog swift and I'm about to send it in for repairs. But maybe its a driver issue if its with a different monitor?

I'm very curious.

I have a ROG Swift as well... I've had it for about 6-8 months and it's never been an issue, only happened when I reformatted and reinstalled then launched CS:GO for the first time. I want to get a gtx 980, so I'll wait and see if that ends up fixing the issue or not.

I've had mine for about 5 months, I think its panel issue, hasn't happened on any of my other monitors.

Ugh, I'm really hoping it's not, cbf RMA... we'll see when I get a new GPU, maybe that'll fix it.

OP, I had the same issue a few years back. Turned out I needed glasses. Now, I take in all that 1440p glory. No driver update required.

Already wear glasses... it's not the issue lol.
