if i hot a usb network adapter, could i use that slot for a pcie ssd

I'm confused what do you to have that is an Extra 4x?

You need the 16x one on the Mobo for the GPU (TIL also that x16 is for GPU'S ONLY!)

Yes, considering that that motherboard doesn't have an M.2 space. Not to mention that any pci slot ssd (more than likely) is not going to fit due to your ram location.

M.2 is a specialized SSD configuration. It sits flat against the motherboard. Like so.

Your mobo doesn't have an M.2 SSD slot. You would need a second PCB with an M.2 slot on it, with an extension cable, to make that work. Why not just go with a standard SATA SSD?

 

You'd need one of these to make an M.2 SSD work.

I've no idea where you would get one of those PCB adapters.
