How to determine FPS?

Hey everyone,

Sorry this is such a noobish question but how exactly can I figure out what my FPS are during games? I'm really new at this kind of stuff.

If you're running steam games, I believe net_graph (0 for off or 1-3) shows it and I'm not sure if show_fps,or was it fps_show, still works.

I've got MSI Afterburner (came with my video card) and I downloaded FRAPS. I guess I should just play around with them more to figure out how it works. Thanks guys!
