Go to solution Solved by thekeemo,

thats not very good..this has a A10 in it http://bit.ly/1QzTdqe

austin evans is better than both though

I'm looking to build my first gaming pc. Found these video and wondering if the $300 dollar one will work perfectly on games like minecraft and league of legends or if I need the $400 one. Also would you change anything about the builds?

The Lumina system that TheKeemo suggested is better, you could also get a CPU now and a GPU later. You could get a locked i5 and then buy a 970 or 290 or something like that when you can afford it.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Could one of you guys make a parts list for me to make one then?

400 bucks and office usage? Of course! I'll send you a PCPartPicker link in a minute.

Here is one I just put together. If ya have any questions feel free to ask :)

EDIT: You said two things: you wanted a gaming PC and you wanted an office PC. Will this be used for both or one or the other?

Also, my build does include Windows. It can be a lot cheaper if you want to use Linux, for example. It could also include a better CPU/GPU combo if you don't include Windows.

Games like Minecraft, LoL, Dota2, WoW, etc. Really like the CPU performance, however they suck at using many cores. This is one of the cases where the Pentium-K CPU is relevant. On heavier titles, it's known for the performance inconsistency it shows, but for this games it's a budget champion.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor  ($49.99 @ Micro Center)

This motherboard and similar B85 and H81 boards do allow overclocking in this CPU, which is pretty much the point of the build. OCing this chip is very easy, even with the stock cooler you can do it and have reasonable temperatures. There is no risk involved (the OC taboo that says you will degrade your CPU quickly and you will burn stuff is just a lie, temperatures hurt the CPU, keep them controlled and everything is fine). To achieve a better OC, a cooler would be most recommended, even a cheap Cooler Master T4 can handle this chip no problem.

8GB of ram and 1TB are pretty much requirements for this day in computers.

The GPU can run all games out there at 1080p, it doesn't do wonders, some intense games won't give you the 60fps everyone is looking for, and you will have to turn down settings. As for the games you mentioned, you can max them out.

The case is a cheap box to put things in. It's compatible, compact and has enough airflow. If you want to spend a few extra bucks here, they are no waste.

Finally, the PSU. Don't cheap out here! The CX 430M is an OK unit. It won't put the components at danger and this is the modular version, so less cable clutter. Jumping to a better PSU, like the XFX TS 550W won't cost much money, and will get you a better upgrade path if some day you end up getting a higher end GPU.

The cost of the build I made here may vary depending on your location, but it won't exceed the $400; you can even do some rebates if you want to squeeze a couple bucks.

OK, well, it includes Windows. You can find it cheaper on Hardwareswap on reddit usually. But 4GB of RAM and a G3258 with the stock cooler to overclock a little bit with is all you're really gonna have unfortunately.

That is with MIRs though so you would be spending more upfront if you bought the entire system at once.

Would that part list be everything I need to make my pc? (Not including mouse, keyboard, monitor)

Who are you responding to yo :P

I feel that, if you look hard enough, you can find Windows for less than $40 on reddit. Look for that then we'll talk :)

But yes, everything but the keyboard, mouse and monitor are included there.

Yes, these are USA dollars. You should mention the region where you are, so we can help you with local stores and currency.

Neither of the builds made by the members here included Windows, do you need a copy or do you already have one yourself?

Listen to this guy!

He GETS IT. Apart from most people on this forum.

+ that 260x supports freesync. For when in the future you decide you are done with tearing and stutters you can choose a widescreen IPS with freesync, like the lg 29um67
