Hey..

Was trying to remove my RAM heatsink thingy and ended with one of the chips stuck to the adhesive :( read a little and found out it is pretty much dead..

I'm left with one stick.. but when tried to plug it, the computer logs into bios but after a few secs it either restarts or just the monitor turns off while the computer still running.. with black screen and it says nothing is connected, after turn it off and on again it does the same thing,.

tried to remove the battery to reset the bios and tried all 4 channels of the ram.. but one stick doesn't seen to work..

Any idea how to fix it?

So you removed the heatsink and one of the chips came off of the memory PCB?

If that is the case that stick WILL NOT work any longer.

So Im assuming you're using another stick of RAM right now and you're having a problem getting the system to boot with the other RAM? Can you get to the UEFI/BIOS setup page? If not then the board should be giving you beep codes or it might have a digital readout on the board itself. Please give us some model numbers.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

if it makes any difference I've tried to put the chip back on and tried to run them as usual.. but the pc acted as if they are no ram at all, it just didn't load anything on the monitor..

only started showing bios at least for those few secs after i inserted only one of the sticks, the good one..

it was a dual ram I've bought, one of them is ruined and the one i was trying to run was its pair...

what do you mean beep codes? and where to look for these readout model numbers?

Those readout numbers are often at the bottom of the board and the are usually displayed by a small led display. It shows codes which design errors. The corresponding error can be found when looking in the motherboard manual.

Do you have a bios switch on your motherboard. If you do, just switch to the second bios and see if the stick that is supposed to work, works while the secondary bios is used. If it works, flash the secondary bios on the first the primary one. Then, switch to the primary bios and try booting your pc.

You ripped a module off your RAM and you're going to try returning it? C'mon now... Bite the bullet you shot at yourself and buy another DIMM.
