I'm thinking of buying the Batman Arkham Knight Premium Edition for $45 off of cdkeys.com but I've never bought a game key before. Especially not a game that hasn't even come out yet.

If I was to buy the game key now would I get a key and just have the game put in my library but locked? Or would I not get the key until launch date.

Just buy the game through Steam for the $60, and it will be added to your library. Then you can launch it on release date. Some developers allow pre-loading (downloading it beforehand) and others don't. Do not try and save money through these key-selling sites. A lot of the time that brings on a whole lot more hassle than it's worth. Is $15 really worth risking the game being revoked?

That's $45 AUD. The game is like $140 AUD on steam.

Would you like to explain to me how this appears at all legitimate? That's already a 65%+ savings, and the game isn't out yet. I'd be willing to bet you that your key gets revoked, if they even GIVE you one. Attempting to be a cheapskate will land you in a community of cheapskates, and that only results in you being ripped off, and nobody wants that!

I rather wait a while untill the game is on sale :) I got Borderlands 2 with season pass under 10€

I still think it is a great deal. Saving about $100 all up

The site name sounds sketchy

Apparently @XplosiveNoctua99 bought it from there and it was fine.

I admittedly did preorder arkham knight myself albeit not for pc and a physical copy. That said i only did that because i liked rocksteady....

Also where do these dodgy steam keys that come up actually come from at the source? key generators?

Whenever I bought from a site like this, I received my key the day before release. I never had issues so far,

I don't think developers should rally against such sites. Some games are ridiculously overpriced. In the end it's their own fault if people move away from the usual distribution. If you shut down the key seller sites, people will eventually pirate the games.
