The monitor only have a VGA plug in? Or does it have dvi too? Also which i5 you have?

It may be as simple as a bad cord or it could be a faulty GPU. If it's the GPU you may have to RMA it.it also may be the bios needs an update before it can even see the CPU.

That could be possibly the problem. I'm running out of ideas. If that's the case that would be a cheap fix. I use displayport or HDMI.

i just figured out my MOBO do have have a onboard sound and its supposed to beep mines is silent

Onboard sound isn't what you need for that. Its a case speaker or mobo speaker. They aren't tied into the onboard sound.

Onboard sound is just so you can hook up headphones and speakers without needing a dedicated sound card.

Your motherboard has an HDMI plug in. Does your monitor have an HDMI plug? If so hook it up using that. If you have an HDMI cable. Or try using that for your video card to the monitor.
