Raid to SSD

Right i have 2 700GB samsung drives in raid 0, my windows 7 install is on a 90GB partition on the array. so is the MBR.

If i get a ssd and clone the windows install, which i want to do as it works perfectly am i going to run into issues with the MBR, when i decide to delete the windows install off the raid array?

Also in bios i am set to RAID and not AHCI, could this lead to my having to delete my array? i do not want to have to do this as there is 600GB of stuff on it.

should also note my Array is using the first 2 sata 3 ports, if i move them onto sata 2 ports will i have an issue?

And no, you should not run into any problems with your boot partition on your raid. As soon as you boot from SSD it's just another partition with stuff on it.

As far as moving your drives go, i'm not entirely shure how intel rst reacts to swaping both drives to a different port. Could be that you will need to follow (part of) my tutorial to recover the raid.

PS. Keep the RAID setting in BIOS it's AHCI compliant anyway (if you have a modern motherboard)
